Cle Elum-Roslyn School District Transportation |
August 17, 2007
Dear Parents of School Bus Riders.
As we start the new school year, bus transportation will be available to all students in the district. We encourage all students to take advantage of bus transportation. We ask that your student be at their a.m. stop a minimum of 5 minutes before the scheduled stop time.
The routes in our cities and towns of Cle Elum, Roslyn, and South Cle Elum will be kept to the stops that are listed for each route. There will be two buses serving most of the city of Cle Elum, an elementary only , Bus F (K-5), as well as a middle/high school Bus D (grades 6-12). All other routes will be "all students ride". We ask that students riding buses in Cle Elum ride their respective grade level bus only. We have split the grade levels to help with over crowding. Please choose the stop that is closest to your residence, and be at that stop a minimum of five minutes before the scheduled pick up time. BusK will serve E. 3rd St. from Cottage Ave. to Montgomery. BusA will serve Railroad from Peoh Ave. to Billings.
Your student will then be assigned to get on and off thebus at that stop only, unless a permission slip for a different bus or stop is received by the school and verified. There will be NO exceptions.
We ask that parents or guardians of kindergarten and first grade students, as well as pre school and special needs students, be at the AM stop with their student, and be at the PM stop when their student arrives. They will not be released from the PM bus without a parent or guardian at the stop, unless they are in the care of an older student, identified by the parent. If your residence is close enough to the stop, and you are confident that your student can find their way home safely, a written permission slip, signed by the parent or guardian is required. This permission slip should be given directly to the bus driver. All K-1 students, and students riding rural routes that require a ride by car from their stop, will not be dropped off unless their safety conditions are met. They will be kept on the bus and returned to their respective school building at the end of the route. It is imperative that parents or guardians meet the responsibilities when their student comes home from school.
Every regular Friday will have an afternoon release at 1:45 and 1:50, and busses will leave the schools at 2:00. Your students will be arriving at their stop approximately one hour and ten minutes earlier than the regular arrival time. Please put this on your calendar to avoid confusion on R&D Fridays. Please review the school calendar for other early release information.
Our routes are designed to travel the major city and county-maintained roads with time and winter safety concerns in mind. Access closer to your residence may not be possible; therefore , you may be required to drive your student to and from the bus stop. If you are new to the district or have a question about a stop, please call the transportation office at 649-4855 for information.
