What is the school schedule for the Developmental Preschool?

The preschool operates off the same calendar as the district’s calendar with the exception that it starts one week later in the fall and ends one week earlier in the spring.  We currently have two sessions.  We offer a Monday-Thursday schedule that goes from 12:30-2:40 and we offer a Tuesday and Thursday class that runs from 8:30-10:30.  Your child will be placed in the program most suitable to their developmental levels.  Related services such as speech and occupational therapy will be provided during the child’s regular scheduled school day.

The Goals of the Developmental Preschool Program are to:

Provide school experiences that are developmentally appropriate for pre-kindergarten students who have special needs.

Identify the needs, interests and abilities of each child.

Develop and implement an appropriate individualized program for each child and family.

Provide a safe and caring environment which encourages growth and independence.

Assist and support families through shared decision making opportunities and the use of parent resources.
