……think again.

We have good news!  A new state program is about to help 7th and 8th grade students plan for college, pay for college, and begin to realize their dreams.

The COLLEGE BOUND SCHOLARSHIP is a financial aid program for students who are eligible to participate in the free and reduced-price lunch program.  It is designed to inspire students to be gin making their college and career plans without worrying about the cost of attending college.

Eligible students sign a pledge in the 7th or 8th grade promising to graduate from high school, maintain a 2. GPA, and be a good citizens.  In exchange the state of Washington will pay for their college tuition and books – for up to four years or until the student earns a bachelor’s degree.

Eligible 8th graders must apply by June 1, 2008.  This year’s 7th graders are also advised to sign-up this year, but must apply by June 1, 2009.  Students are encouraged to apply online at www.hecb.wa.gov/collegebound   Paper applications are also available.
