Dear Parents/Guardians of the
The administration and staff
at Cle Elum-Roslyn Schools recognizes that parents need to play a significant
role in their child’s education. To make it easier for you to get involved, we
are providing you with the ability to view student information anytime day or
night via the Internet through a program called Family Access. This powerful,
web-based software is part of the school district’s student information
database and allows parents and students to access important information such
as grades, homework assignments, attendance and lunch money balances at present
with other data possibly becoming available in the future. Because schools differ, not all Family Access
features will be available at all schools.
More information about
obtaining a login and password to use the Family Access system will be mailed
out to parents in the near future. Due
to the high security needed to maintain your confidential student information
we ask for your patience and understanding while we roll out this new parent
involvement feature. Listed below are
the FAQ’s or frequently-asked questions about Family Access.
Q ~ Can other people see my child's personal information
on Family Access?
A ~ Family Access is password protected. As long as
you keep your password safe, it is highly unlikely that anyone else (other than
appropriate staff) will be able to access child's personal information
Q ~ What's the difference
between Family Access and Student Access?
A ~ Parents will have one user name and password for
all their children attending schools in the Cle Elum-Roslyn School District and
also have access to the private information they have given the school district
such as phone numbers, emergency information, etc. Students using Student Access
are only able to access their own personal grades and attendance records.
Q ~ Can I access Family Access at work?
A ~ Since
Family Access is web-based, it should work on your computer like any other web-based
application. Supported browsers
include Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari.
Q ~ With all the talk about
Internet safety and security, how do I know Family Access safe?
A ~ Family Access uses Secured Socket Layer (SSL)
encryption as the security layer for data presented on the Web. This is the
same encryption system used by sites that accept credit card numbers and other
personal data that must be secure. District procedures determine security
settings for access to student records for appropriate staff, students and
families. Each individual must be given a login name and password and be
designated as an appropriate viewer linked to a student in order to view
student information.
