Professional Qualifications:
1. Valid Washington State Speech Language
pathologist
Certificate (CDS)
2. Ability to communicate well both verbally and
in written form.
3. Ability to work collaboratively and to
develop rapport
with students,
staff and parents.
4. Strong organizational skills.
5. Honesty and strong work ethic.
6. Familiarity with Special Education Laws &
Regulations.
Typical
Responsibilities:
1. Seek parental approval, screen and assess
students.
2. Write therapy goals based on assessments.
3. Perform required hearing testing and
recording.
4. Plan, write and implement individualized
educational/therapy
plans.
5. Evaluate student progress.
6. Supervise instructional assistant for
implementation of IEP.
7. Serve as member of multidisciplinary team.
8. Provide consultative and advisory data.
9. Maintain records and complete reports as
required.
10. Conference with parents concerning student
performance.
11. Keep abreast with
developments and improved techniques in
the field.
12. Recommend suitable
equipment and materials.
13. Carry out effective
classroom management.
14. Familiarity with
Special Education laws & regulations.
15. Other duties as
assigned.
Contract:
182-day
basic contract.
